Dr. Metin AKTAN is a mining executive, UMREK Competent Person, UMVAL Competent Valuator and Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst with more than 20 years of field, project, public-sector and executive experience across the energy and mining industries.
He spent a substantial part of his career in the public sector, undertaking technical, project and managerial responsibilities and building extensive institutional and industry experience. He subsequently brought this perspective to executive, business-development and advisory roles in the private sector. His academic work, pursued throughout every stage of his professional career, has closely integrated field and management experience with scientific method, analytical rigour and current research. This combined background brings together the institutional and technical perspective of the public sector, the investment- and results-oriented approach of private enterprise, and the discipline of academia within a single framework for decision-making.
His experience spans exploration, resource estimation, geostatistics, 3D geological modelling, open-pit and underground mine planning, feasibility studies, technical and commercial due diligence, economic modelling and mineral property valuation across coal, metallic and industrial mineral projects. He combines technical mining knowledge with financial and strategic analysis to support investment, development and management decisions.
He also brings practical experience in thermal-power fuel supply, coal trading, integrated management systems, public-private-academic collaboration, international team coordination and stakeholder management. Through Val-Ore Consultancy, he provides independent, decision-oriented support grounded in transparent assumptions, traceable analysis and fit-for-purpose reporting.
